Spiced Holiday Pumpkin Seeds

I couple of years ago I made these really delicious spicy pumpkin seeds that tasted a lot like my great grandfather’s hot peppers he’d used to grow (except these were seeds). I found the recipe on Vegetarian Times and ever since then I couldn’t find the recipe anywhere! Oh, well…..

Anyway, since I couldn’t find the spicy pumpkin seed recipe, I decided to try to make more of a holiday type of pumpkin seed spice. These came out really good and are very easy to transport for a easy/healthy snack! 


2-3 cups of raw pumpkin seeds (out of shell)

2 tbs. of olive oil

sea salt

2-3 tbs. of sweetener (honey, maple syrup, agave) 

1 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon 

1/8 tsp. of ground allspice

1/4 tsp. of ground nutmeg 

1/4 tsp. of chili powder (optional) 

Mix all ingredients into a bowl. Place seeds onto a baking sheet and then place it in the oven at 350 degrees fahrenheit. Let seeds bake for 30-45 minutes. Toss seeds every 15 minutes. 

Mix in all ingredients


Place seeds on a baking sheet. Unroasted………IMG_1350
