This shake could actually be for anytime of the day. I actually made this yesterday after my workout for a quick snack. It definitely hit the spot!
1/2-1 cup of ice
1-1/2 cups of strawberries (organic or locally grown)
1 cup of raw milk (Raw milk has A TON of essential enzymes and vitamins that are very much needed before and/or after a workout, but if you can’t get access to that, organic milk or almond milk would work just fine.)
1-2 tbs. of unsweetened shredded coconut
1/4-1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract
Add all ingredients into a blender/vitamix, and blend until smooth. Enjoy! 🙂
If you have a pretty high-powered blender, leave the strawberry leaves on, since they contain iron, calcium and vitamin C. They also help with digestive distress, arthritis, and joint pain (which will help with your sore muscles after you workout!) Don’t worry, you don’t taste them one bit in your shake.
