Chicken Sausage w/ Peppers & Onions

So, this is a HUGE Italian dish. I don’t think there has ever been an Italian that walked on this earth, and never ate this at some point in their life. It tastes amazing!

Traditionally, the dish is made with pork sausage, but since I don’t eat pork, I substituted it with chicken sausage. I couldn’t taste the difference.

Ingredients

1 package of chicken sausage (I actually didn’t look at how much it weighed. I used antibiotic-free hot chicken sausage.)

2 bell peppers-sliced (I used green)

1 onion-sliced

2 cloves of garlic (minced)

olive oil

crushed red pepper flakes

sea salt

Slice the peppers and onions. Coat the bottom of a saucepan with olive oil, and add in the minced garlic. Add in the vegetables. Let cook until the begin to soften. Add in the chicken sausage. Let cook for about 20-30 minutes. If wanted, you can sliced the sausage into bit size pieces, while the sausage is still cooking in the pan. Once sausage is cooked through, it’s time to eat!

Add them into the coated saucepan. IMG_2110

Once the vegetables are soft, add in the sausage.

If you want, you can cut the sausage like I did.
