A Spring Detox Safe For Everyone!

Spring is around the corner, which means you should be getting ready for your spring detox! Don’t know which one is safe and would be beneficial for you? I have just the one! 🙂

Now, this isn’t a “total cleanse” detox. Who knows, maybe it will be for you, but I’m not going to promise that you’ll lose weight doing this. There are a few things that need to all fall into place if you want to be on the path to weight-loss. Ex. eating very clean (eating healthy organic proteins, fruits, veggies, occasionally soaked grains, and raw dairy, if available. Avoiding most of everything (especially sugar) except for the foods listed before. Working out regularly – making sure you’re incorporating cardio in your schedule at least 2-3 times a week, ect.) Anyway, that can all be saved for a later post.  Now, back to the detox.

Since I already eat very healthy (pure, whole foods), and being that I have a lot of food allergies, I didn’t want nor need to take anymore food out of my diet. So I came up with this detox.

I also wanted to make a detox that would be safe for whatever dietary restrictions that someone may have. I also wanted it to even be kid safe. So, if your child needs to be a little healthier, or you would even just want him/her to do the detox with you, you could easily do so.

Note- The foods that I’m about to list below, does not mean you should only eat those foods, just try to incorporate them into your diet daily.

Water with lemon – Try by drinking at least one lemon a day. You can split up the water and lemon at whatever times of the day

Lemons are very cleansing and help aid digestive issues and constipation.

IMG_2092Raw apple Cider Vinegar – Try working your way up to one to two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar a day, by adding some in your water.

Apple Cider Vinegar is great for attacking fat. The high acid levels in the vinegar, help break down fat cells. It also helps with digestive issues, and constipation.

IMG_2091Smoothie a day – Drink a smoothie a day, if possible. It can either be a fruit, veggie, or both, smoothie.

IMG_1581Eat your greens – Now, you know you should do this even if your not on a detox, but if you want a good cleanse, try to eat a serving of vegetables with every meal. For my cleanse I ate a salad a day, to make sure I was getting a lot of the vitamins and minerals that are in raw vegetables. Dr. Mercola says that one-third of your diet should be raw. IMG_1770So there you have it! It’s not too crazy and it’s not the type of detox that says “Oh, follow this to the tee or you’ll not lose any weight.” If you already eat clean, you’ll probably not lose any weight with this detox, but if you don’t usually eat/drink these types of foods/drinks, then there is a good chance that you may shed a couple of pounds. So, replace whatever your normal every day snack is, with a smoothie or a salad. Try having a big salad that’s filled with healthy fats and proteins, a few times a week, for either lunch or dinner and see what happens. 🙂

I wish you great success with your detox journey!

  1. Great tips! My husband and I try to eat clean (most of the time anyway). Today we started a two day juicing cleanse. One day down hope we can get through tomorrow without being to hungry. Juice isn’t very filling. Been drinking lots of water.

I hate to be that one who leaves the negative comment on a very encouraging post but I have to share my experience with you… my hubby and I started juicing for just our breakfast meal and he gave up coffee… about 9 days into it we found out he had a kidney stone (for the first time ever)…. the doctor said it was due to his diet change and that when you change your acidity so much, so quickly that can be your result…I am personally still better for the changes we have made, but just a word of caution… go slow…let your body adjust to your changes…everything in moderation 🙂

    • Thanks for sharing your story, Rebecca.
Sorry to hear about your husband. I’m not sure how much coffee your husband usually drinks, but I’ve heard that high oxalate foods, such as, coffee, beets, spinach, soda, chocolate, ect. should all be taken with some bit of calcium. When we eat these foods without calcium, it could cause calcium stones. I’m not sure if that is the type of stone he has though.
Anyway, I appreciate your comment. I note in the post that you should only try to incorporate this detox in your diet-not taking any food out. You’re right about everything being in moderation. I’m 100% for that, when is comes to anything diet related.
By the way, I didn’t think your comment was negative at all. I’d love that you took your time to comment and give us all a cation sign. Thanks so much!

  10. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was wondering what all is required to get set up? I’m
assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?
I’m not very web smart so I’m not 100% sure. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

    • I just made a WordPress account and followed the instructions on setting up a free blog. The format and everything is free. Personally, I think WordPress is much more professional looking than Blogspot, and you can get much more out of it, as well. Hope this helps!
